Karin Savkova and Sandra Konieczna by Emre Guven

This is the second editorial I feature on the blog, and here’s the reason why this one’s chosen: In one of many newletters I was running throuh in my inbox, I found a link to these pictures, taken by Emre Guven for Marie Claire Turkey (Sept.11), the least to say is that I was struck by the bold beauty of these shots.

The set is quite simple, Karin Savkova and Sandra Konieczna are on a getaway on some deserted hills where buses rot under the sun, wearing a classic yet really contrasted make-up, and clothes that each and everyone could have in its closet but mixed by Hakan Öztürk in such a way that the whole outfit takes an astonishing magnitude.

The beauty of these shots is very classical, not agressive, yet you’d be blind if you don’t see it. Therefore ladies and gentleman its a wrap as it pleases the poets as much as the common people, a perfect deal for the magazine. Enough talking, take time to appreciate ‘’The Sheltering Sky’’, it’s such an incredible visual feast…

This last shot is definitely my favorite, it’s so powerful ! The dress is magnificient, the red is absolute, the composition, the shape, the light, everything is so mesmerizing… This shot is an artwork to itself !

Satisfied ?

If not, wait for tomorrow’s playlist, I like it !

Peace, Love and Art !

See ya !

Armani Privé Fall 2011 Couture Collection

After two articles about “new” designers I need to take a break and write about a master that can’t disappoint, let’s check Armani’s Fall 2011 couture collection !
I’ll start by saying that each collection by Armani makes me love him more and more, I was highly satisfied with his Spring 2011 couture collection (one of the best) and this Fall 2011 one is simply amazing too.
You’ll see (if you’re still unaware) that the inspiration behind his creations is Japan, it’s history, culture, colors, etc… And okay it’s already been used and seen and exploited, etc. but watch carefully, Armani treated the theme in a very personal way creating outfits that are simply classy, not flashy, sophisticated but still very original and wearable, and that’s what I admire in Armani’s collection (although I’m still thinking of the last one that was absolutely breathtaking because of its exploding originality, in the use of colors and materials).
And because the collection is really big I won’t comment each outfit (especially that there’s nothing to say, really… the whole thing is incredible (I mean the guy even used velvet and I like it)) but I’ll just show you my favorites, the pieces I really liked, because yeah I didn’t like everything… And you can see more here.

I don’t have much to say about the accessories, they were simple, and classy, nothing to die for, which is good as it doesn’t overshadow the outfits. I’ll simply share these few handbags that I find exceptionally well crafted:

Oh ! And I almost forgot to tell you that the wonderful head pieces are by the only amazing and wonderful unique Philip Treacy, and I’ll leave you in company of these dreamy pieces of art…

To summarize, I just love Armani and the fact that he chose Treacy the result is simply mesmerizing as all the elements combine in perfect harmony… This is the best Fall 2012 collection so far…
