Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 Couture Collection

Hello peeps ! I say, let’s get back to the couture collections, because I’d really feel bad if I don’t do all of them…
So here we go ! Tonight I’ll be judging Giambattista Valli’s first couture collection, as it is his first one, I’ll try to balance my words, not to be too harsh.
Globally it’s… Fine. (It lacks originality). But could use some adjustments here and there. I mean some ideas are good and I really like the colors, this coral is just amazing, like I love them. So, just as for Alexis Mabille’s collection I’ll divide these outfits in three categories; the beauties, the ones that need cosmetic surgery (*wink*) and finally the beasts (yes…).
And let’s start with the beauties ! (As in my favorites).
Giambattista Valli Fall 2011
(For its freshness)

(For its lightness)

(For its sweet provocation)

(For its original simplicity)

(For its calm bestiality)
Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 (6)
(Because you can play with it)
Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 (7)
(Because it glorifies red, just forget the necklace)
Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 (9)
(Because the shapes and colors are in perfect harmony)
Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 (10)
(Because I’d love to see a woman wear this, the belt brings it a step closer to perfection)
Now let’s move on to the almost-good ones.
Giambattista Valli (nay)
Too puffy. (I propose a liposuction).
Giambattista Valli (nay) 2)
Shorter and tighter !
Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 (8)
Easy on the shoulders ! Softer and lighter please.
Giambattista Valli (nay) 3
Why is it shining ? It makes it so cheap !
Giambattista Valli (nay) 4
Keep the shape, change the colors and the print !
And finally… the ugly outfits…
Giambattista Valli (beast)
What’s that ?
Giambattista Valli (beast) 2
No comment; what the fuck ?
Giambattista Valli (beast) 3 Giambattista Valli (beast) 4 Giambattista Valli (beast) 5) Giambattista Valli (beast) 6
What are these ? His interpretation of ‘’Savage Beauty’’ ?
Giambattista Valli (beast) 7
No ! Just, no !
Giambattista Valli (beast) 8
Again: What the bloody fuck ?
Most icredible: The last three dresses are not even the best…
Giambattista Valli final 3
(Close it !)
Giambattista Valli final
(Drop the bows !)
Giambattista Valli final 2  Giambattista Valli final 4
To sum up, this collection shows me that Giambattista Valli is capable of doing great stuff, beautiful dresses and wonderful pieces of art, but at the same time monstruous outfits that are just disastrous, and so fashion faux-pas… Perhaps it’s the lack of experience, however I can’t wait to see his next couture collection, maybe this time it will only be masterpieces.
By the way this is not the whole collection, some outfits are just useless to comment, you can find them here.
PS: I didn’t make my mind about this one, what do you think ?

See ya !
Wait no !
Today I discovered these on the internet, and I thought it would be fun to share this with you, it’s so random I know, but I present to you: the buddha shaped pears ! Straight from Japan, for about seven dollars the fruit… Cute, no ?

And because you are wondering how these are done, here’s a picture to sum up:

I’m waiting your comments as usual ! Do you like the collection ? What would you wear ? Do you agree with my judgement ? Do you like random stuff ? Do you like this pears ? Etc. Etc.

Armani Privé Fall 2011 Couture Collection

After two articles about “new” designers I need to take a break and write about a master that can’t disappoint, let’s check Armani’s Fall 2011 couture collection !
I’ll start by saying that each collection by Armani makes me love him more and more, I was highly satisfied with his Spring 2011 couture collection (one of the best) and this Fall 2011 one is simply amazing too.
You’ll see (if you’re still unaware) that the inspiration behind his creations is Japan, it’s history, culture, colors, etc… And okay it’s already been used and seen and exploited, etc. but watch carefully, Armani treated the theme in a very personal way creating outfits that are simply classy, not flashy, sophisticated but still very original and wearable, and that’s what I admire in Armani’s collection (although I’m still thinking of the last one that was absolutely breathtaking because of its exploding originality, in the use of colors and materials).
And because the collection is really big I won’t comment each outfit (especially that there’s nothing to say, really… the whole thing is incredible (I mean the guy even used velvet and I like it)) but I’ll just show you my favorites, the pieces I really liked, because yeah I didn’t like everything… And you can see more here.

I don’t have much to say about the accessories, they were simple, and classy, nothing to die for, which is good as it doesn’t overshadow the outfits. I’ll simply share these few handbags that I find exceptionally well crafted:

Oh ! And I almost forgot to tell you that the wonderful head pieces are by the only amazing and wonderful unique Philip Treacy, and I’ll leave you in company of these dreamy pieces of art…

To summarize, I just love Armani and the fact that he chose Treacy the result is simply mesmerizing as all the elements combine in perfect harmony… This is the best Fall 2012 collection so far…
